Prayer Letter
May 2011

Dear Friends,

Daniel, a young man who was saved last year, and his cousin Marcos, recently were riding their bicycles on a Sunday afternoon.  A drunk driver passed a car and hit Marcos.  Daniel saw the car coming and just had time to jump.  Marcos was taken to the hospital in critical condition and died 2 days later.  Please pray for Daniel and the families.  It has been hard for him, especially knowing that Marcos had never been saved.

May was what I've called our "Morton Salt" or "When it Rains, It Pours" month.  Starting on Mother's Day, I was in the ER 6 times in two weeks.  What started as a minor discomfort escalated into a very painfrul infection in a sabaceous cyst.  After having it lanced and stitched, the infection got worse. 4 surgeons and a month later, the "soft spot": on the top of my head has finally closed.

Just two weeks later after church, we had just finished lunch at a favorite restaurant, Dean started saying he was dizzy and it quickly went from just dizzy to unconsciousness.  We called an ambulance and he spent 8 hours in the same ER where I had gone 6 times!  He started responding after 30-40 minutes. All the tess they did at the hospital came back negative.  The cardiologist did an echocardiogram and it showed a blockage of the right coronary artery.  The next day he had a heart cathorization and there was no blockage! Answered prayer!!  His cardiologist is still doing more testing to try and find out the cause of the initial problem, since he was unconscious so long.  In all of this, it never ceases to amaze me how the Lord "just happened" to have so many people who were in the right place at the right time.  Isn't it just like Him to prpare the way even before we call!!!  We know that none of the "just happened" and we are thankful for the Lord's protection and answer to prayer.

Are we discouraged . . . NO!  We are both doing okay now.  Are we quitting . . . NO!  Just praying that we don't have any more surprises right away!

Still joyfully serving,
Deloris McClure
