BBFI Missionaries
to Brazil for 41 years
May 23, 2008

Dear Friends in Christ,
Brazil is a wonderful country, but it is sad
to see how immorality and corruption are changing it into a place of fear,
poverty and crime of every kind. Brazil's economy is presently growing like
never before in history and the rich get richer while the poor get poorer.
At the same time the people are in a moral decline that is very disturbing.
It seems that all consciousness of right and wrong is being lost, especially
among the rich and the youth. Our faithfulness in these times is more
important than ever before.
Fruit from past years
We are thankful that our churches are growing during these hard times. One
of the churches we started in Curitiba had their 34th anniversary last
Sunday. The church was packed and it was a blessing to see eight young men
follow their Lord in baptism. This church had been a real light house in the
community especially reaching young people for Christ. The co-pastor of the
church is the Director of the Word of Life youth camp close by. We praise
the Lord for men who are dedicated to reaching the youth today.
Thankful for young men called into the ministry
Two years ago our grandson, who was raised in Brazil and did not speak a
word of English, went to the States and spent a year learning English. He
has accepted the Lord's call and is preparing for full time service.
This month he finished his first year at Baptist Bible College in
Springfield, Mo. After try-outs he was chosen to play in the college band
and will be traveling during the summer months with the band and at the same
time earning a scholarship for his tuition for the coming year.
Prayer requests
Pray with us for more missionaries for the field of Brazil, especially
Brazilian nationals surrendering to God's call to service.
Pray for
more donations to our Rotating Fund for building churches.
Thanks We
appreciate your prayers for us. Janet had quite a bout with pneumonia
followed by bronchial infections in March and April, and I had THE FLU which
put me to bed for days. We're both better finally – thanks for praying.
We are also thankful for your faithful monthly support.
