August and September 2010
Dear friends in Christ,
I am sorry about the lack
of prayer letters. As you know my daughter, who works full- time and is a
full time mother and wife, tries to get out mail but I never know whether
she is able to do so as planned. Would it be alright if I sent you a report
via email instead of snail mail?
Let me bring you up to date on the
ministry here that your church has such a valuable part in.
The
church where we are ministering right now is doing great. Our vision for
this year is to Edify Families for the Present and Future. We are working
with 11 ministries trying to reach all ages from the nursery to the elderly,
plus the special needs of many families; the aged, unwed mothers, etc. The
Lord is blessing this effort. Our attendance is around 400 and we are making
plans to have an additional service on Sunday to reach more people. One of
the Mission Works in Ventanilla celebrated their 6th anniversary this past
Sunday with a great day in the Lord. They are trying to make a deal to buy
the property they are using. Please pray with us about that need.
The
Feeding Center in Gramadal is doing very well. We are currently feeding 90
needy children and many of the parents have been reached and are now being
discipled. The mission in Juan Pablo will celebrate 2 years the 26th
of this month. The work has gone slowly there but with a change in
leadership we are beginning to see fruit. There were four saved this past
Sunday.
The mission work in Ensenda has been blessed. They started a
Christian School this year and will be adding an additional grade level in
December. We are still in stand-by with the building project in Alaborada,
but we are trusting the Lord to be able to start that soon. The people are
learning to tithe and they have special activities to build up their
building fund.
The work in Yungar, Ancash now has a feeding center
and they are constructing a combination kitchen and classroom facility.
The mission in Arequipa is also growing and has a large feeding ministry
in the Majes area with over two hundred children being fed. They are
reaching families through their ministry.
Pray for Cyndy and myself.
The years are beginning to take their toll. My right knee is playing out on
me for some reason plus dementia is a heredity from dads side of the family
and it seems to be rearing its head up in me.
Again please forgive me
for not being more diligent,
Your servants to Perú,
Leonard and Cyndy Myers Missionaries to Perú, S.A.
