Max & Debbie Harmon BBFI Missionaries to Perú since 1982 Special Report - July 2, 2009
Dearest
Prayer Warriors,
I usually post my prayer letters here, but I have a great report to
share. It certainly merits publicity.
Last weekend (June 27-28) I made a missions trip to Pedregal. A city 2
hours down the mountain from Arequipa towards the coast. Peruvian
churches have supported a missionary there for the past 20 years. Pastor
Apolinario literally carved a work out of the rock. You can access a
video of some of the construction at the bottom of this page. I and three other
pastors (6 people in all in the traveling team) met there for 3 days of
well planned meetings by pastor Apolinario Bedregal.
TO
GOD BE THE GLORY Here is what happened:
Friday night we dedicated and filled the new auditorium. Our
Peruvian loan fund loaned about 1/4 of the building cost and they
raised and paid for the rest after the initial loan was made.
Saturday morning we met with the churches 5 mission works leaders
and people to encourage and instruct them. again the auditorium was
filled.
Saturday evening 4 couples were married in the church service with
many unconverted family members present, this time the auditorium
was over flowing with standing room only which many did. The pastor
finally got home at one am.
Sunday morning we had 2 sermons back to back and then ordained
pastor Apolinario in front of a full auditorium of mostly folks he
had won to the Lord. It was an emotional time together.
Sunday night our missions team split up to visit the mission
churches while services went on as normal in the mother church.
Over
50 people accepted Christ as Saviour as a result of the three day
evangelistic effort. We left an encouraged group of people and
feeling the Lord had really blessed the missions trip.
*(my guess for a full auditorium would be a little over 200 people.)
My goal
is to make at least one missions trip outside of Lima each month. Please
pray we will see God continue to bless as he did in the Iglesia Biblica
Bautista en Majes. Pastor Apolinario Bedregal.
Just wanted to brag on the Lord a little and Praise Him for what he did
and allowed me to see and participate in!
