February, 2001

It is exciting to be in the Lord¹s work in 2001!  

We were happy to be able to start off the year in January by taking part in the Summer Vacation Bible School over in Viña del Mar.  We taught on Sunday Morning.  Many kids brought their parents to the meeting, and ten children and a mommy made professions of faith that day.  

February has brought blessings as well.  Our greatest joy of this month was the wonderful ³send-off² service that we had on Sunday, February 4th, for Hugo and Marcela Ulloa here at the Bible Baptist Temple of Santiago.  Then on Monday, February 5th, a large group of family and fellow believers gathered together at the airport to say goodbye.  We sang ³Onward, Christian Soldiers², took lots of pictures, prayed, and then gave our last hugs to this young couple on their way to Paraguay.  It sure brought back sweet memories to these missionaries of our own farewell nineteen years ago!

The Ulloas didn¹t waste any time getting busy for the Lord.  Within two days Hugo was preaching and teaching at a camp.  Please pray for the following requests for Hugo and Marcela:

   €  That they find an appropriate place to live
   €  That they will have no trouble receiving and exchanging the
       funds from the churches in Chile
   €  That they will be granted a permanent visa to live and work
       in Paraguay
   €  That our churches will be ever faithful in their prayers and
       support to this fine couple

We continue to pray that the Lord will call young men and women to full-time service in this great country.  Thank you for your participation in this endeavor.
